Merchandise/Giveaway Guidelines

To ensure consistency in the use of the ASF's marks, we have specific and detailed guidelines on the use of our marks on merchandise of any kind. This includes tshirts, apparel, accessories, stickers, and various other forms of "swag", gifts or giveaways.

Using Apache Logos in Merchandise and Giveaways

The following conditions must be satisfied when using Apache logos in T-shirts or other items that are sold for profit or given away for free.

1. The designs and items must be reviewed and approved in advance by the Apache Public Relations Committee

2. A statement like "Apache Tomcat and the Tomcat logo are trademarks of the Apache Software Foundation. Used with permission." must be included when advertising the items.

3. When selling items for profit, donating a part of your profits to the ASF is required. You may only advertise such donations if you provide the ASF with quarterly reports of your revenue and profits.
